Proverbs 17:22 A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. ESV
I have a quirky sense of humor. I tend to laugh at just about
everything. I often embarrass Annette at movie theaters because I'll
laugh when no one else is laughing! I love going to "kid" movies with
my 8 year old, Rachel, because... well... I like to laugh!
Interestingly enough, when you do laugh your body releases endorphins
that literally make you feel better! No wonder I feel good most of the
time! Laughter and a joyful heart really are good medicine. So, laugh
it up!
To be sure, our current situation may not be the
makings for a comical or light hearted moment, but you have to try to
find the humor in any and every situation. It's there! Sometimes it's
like mining for gold or searching for buried treasure, but if you will
look for the humor in your circumstance you will find it! When was the
last time you had a good belly laugh? Pull out that old DVD... VHS...
or BETA (remember those?) and just laugh until it hurts. Let your
joyful heart be the good medicine for whatever ails you! Laughter is
God's gift to you. Go ahead... laugh it up! Have a great TGIF and an
amazing weekend!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor J
Listening to details about the Stimulus Package makes me laugh out loud. Though not with quite the same light-heartedness as with a kid's movie.
Excellent point, Pastor Jimmy!
