Acts 1:4 And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, "you heard from me. ESV
How do you handle having to wait? Since the advent of the iPhone, I
must say I'm better with it than I used to be! At least I have
something to do while waiting... at least in the short term. However,
I am referring to waiting in a broader sense. Are there some things
that you believe God has spoken or promised you that have yet to be
fulfilled? If you are alive and actually reading this eVotional today,
then the answer would have to "Yes, of course!"
Everyone at some time or, more likely, most of the time in their life
will be in a place of waiting. It's like living in a perpetual holding
pattern. You know something is coming. You know something has to
give. You know that there will be a breakthrough... there just has to
be. But in the mean time you are required to wait.
God
promised the gift of the Holy Spirit to the disciples of Jesus so that
their witness would have the authority of heaven and grace of God on
it, but they had to wait. You know what that feels like. The good
news is the promise was fulfilled! God came through for them. He will
come through for you. Don't give up on the promises of God. Have an
amazing weekend!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor J

Jimmy, I linked to this post at http://newchurchreport.com/ncr -- the real site will go live tomorrow -- same address without the /ncr. I'm taking over NewChurchReport.com from Scott Linklater and hope you'll let me link to some of your posts in the future. The site combines an auto aggregator and personally selected articles, so I hope it will draw some traffic as a church news and resource site.
